Admissions
The Tinbergen Institute Research Master’s in Economics program offers graduate education to students who have the ambition of pursuing a PhD in Economics, Econometrics or Finance at one of the partner Schools. The Program is selective and annually admits a cohort of students with diverse research interests, ensuring a strong fit with the relevant academic community at the partner Schools. The Admission Board of the Program is responsible for admission into the Program.
Application Guidance
The Tinbergen Institute Research Master's in Economics has one intake per year. The admissions process has three main deadlines and opens on October 1st, with a start date of September the following year. How to apply
Admission for Cohort 2027-2029 opens in Studielink on October 1, 2026.
Start your application process in Studielink, (the Dutch national education application system). Our joint degree program is administered by Erasmus University (EUR): you must continue your application in the EUR application system. Please read more details about the application process in the Application Procedure section.
Students requesting financial support are strongly advised to apply in the December round. Specific deadlines apply for Non-EEA citizens, depending on their place of study. Please see the Deadlines page.
