The field of Spatial Economics addresses four themes: urban and regional economics, land use, transportation, and natural resources and sustainable environmental development. The methodologies span and combine a wide range, varying from empirical methods to equilibrium modelling and theoretical analytics. Many researchers combine policy-oriented with fundamental research.
