Placement Łukasz Marć: Overseas Development Office

PhD student Łukasz Marć has accepted a position as Senior Research Officer at the Overseas Development Institute in London, United Kingdom.

As of May 1st, he will start working for the Economic Opportunities for Youth (EOY) Learning Partnership. In this position Łukasz will manage an evaluation of a large scale intervention in Ghana and Uganda that aims at improving work opportunities of youth unemployed in both countries. The Overseas Development Institute is the UK’s leading independent think-tank on international development and humanitarian issues.

Łukasz defended his dissertation on the impact of aid on government expenditures and revenues in April 2015 under the supervision of TI fellows Chris Elbers and Jan Willem Gunning at the VU University Amsterdam. Łukasz is an alumnus of the TI MPhil program (2011) and holds an MA in economics (2009) from Warsaw School of Economics in Poland. His research interests include development economics and applied econometrics.
