Location

Location

Tinbergen Institute is located in both Amsterdam and Rotterdam. TI Amsterdam is currently located near railway station Amsterdam Zuid and is close to Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, one of the participating host universities. TI Rotterdam is located at the heart of the lively Erasmus University campus.

Starting in January 2026, Tinbergen Institute Amsterdam will be based on the fourth floor of the REC-E building on the Roeterseiland campus. We are pleased to share this new space with the Amsterdam School of Economics and to be located near the Amsterdam Business School.

The Netherlands, and especially Rotterdam and Amsterdam, have a lot to offer to international students. Both cities have a vibrant social and cultural environment and offers numerous theaters, cafés, museums, parks, canals and other recreational opportunities. Their environs offer more bucolic distractions, such as beaches, sand dunes, waterways, forests and wide-open spaces.

General information on studying and living in The Netherlands is provided by the NUFFIC website for international students.
