Research fellow Nadine Ketel (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) has been awarded Veni funding from the NWO (Dutch Research Council). Nadine Ketel will use the grant to conduct research into inequality of opportunity in education.

hD students Yasmine Van der Straten (University of Amsterdam) and Elisa de Weerd (Erasmus University Rotterdam) were invited to the Catshuis, the official residence of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, as two of six young economists to engage in conversation with the Minister of Finance Sigrid Kaag, Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Micky Adriaansens and Minister of Social Affairs and Employment Karien van Gennip on the theme of broad prosperity.

Paul Muller (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) has been awarded an 800,000 euro Vidi funding from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) for his research on labor market shortages in the Netherlands.
Julius Ilciukas
Julius Ilciukas wins best PhD paper award at the 5th Baltic Economic Conference, organized by the Baltic Economic Association. The Baltic Economic Conference is the annual conference, rotating every year within the three Baltic countries. This year the conference took place in Riga, Latvia, organized by the Baltic Economic Association, in cooperation with the Bank of Latvia and the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.
Julius Ilciukas
The jury, consisting of the representatives of SSE Riga and the Bank of Latvia, the Bank of Lithuania, the Bank of Estonia and Tallinn University of Technology, unanimously awarded this year's best paper to Julius Ilciukas for his paper on "Fertility and Parental Retirement”.
Anne Boring
Anne Boring of Erasmus School of Economics has obtained an NWO Open Competition SSH-M grant. Anne receives this grant, with a maximum budget of 400,000 euro, to enable her to work on her project about diversity in leadership positions.
