I present novel empirical evidence on the impact of multinational enterprises (MNEs) on Ghanaian labour markets. To rationalise these findings and compute policy relevant counterfactuals, I build a search and match model of the Ghanaian economy. In this model, ex-ante homogenous workers may be in home production, self employment, or earning a wage. There is random search in the first two sectors. Firms are heterogeneous in productivity and compete for workers and production on the same market of multinationals, which draw productivity from a different distribution.
