Placement Megan Haasbroek: University of Cambridge

Megan Haasbroek will join the Janeway Institute at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom as Research Associate (Postdoctoral researcher) in August 2024.

Placement Megan Haasbroek: University of Cambridge

Megan is a TI PhD candidate in Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam under the supervision of research fellows Maarten Bosker and Sacha Kapoor. She holds a Research Master in Macroeconomics and International Economics from Tinbergen Institute.

Megan's primary research interests are in international trade, economic geography and development economics. She uses administrative datasets and hand-collected archival data on policy implementation to study the consequences of trade or industrial policy in developing countries. In her job market paper she provides novel evidence on the impact of eminent domain on industrial composition in the context of Indian Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
