Stanislav Avdeev awarded a Doctoral Research Grant for his work on international education

PhD student Stanislav Avdeev (University of Amsterdam) has been awarded the 2025 EAIE Doctoral Research Grant.

Stanislav Avdeev awarded a Doctoral Research Grant for his work on international education

Stanislav received a research grant for his project “University as a Melting Pot: Long-term Effects of Internationalization.” He will use the grant to support a research visit aimed at advancing his paper. Previously, Stanislav received two best paper awards for this project, highlighting its relevance in current academic and policy debates.

The award was launched by the European Association for International Education to recognize outstanding academic work and to empower the next generation of researchers to shape the future of international education.

Stanislav is a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Amsterdam. As an empirical microeconomist with a strong interest in the economics of education and health, his research focuses on quasi-experimental evaluations of policy reforms using administrative and survey data. His advisors are Hessel Oosterbeek (University of Amsterdam) and Bas van der Klaauw (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam).
