New Research Fellow: Yun Xiao

Her research lies at the intersection of family, development, and labor economics. Within these fields, she is particularly interested in understanding how individual decisions about human capital, fertility, and labor supply interact with institutional and social constraints and shape inequality and development over the long run.

Yun is a Tinbergen Institute's research master's (2019) and PhD (2022) alumna in Economics. After graduating she worked as an Assistant Professor in Economics at the University of Gothenburg.

In 2023, she won the prestigious KVS Medal (‘Penning’) for the best PhD thesis in economics defended at a Dutch university in the preceding three years.
