Fellow Shaul Shalvi elected to the Young Academy of Europe

Shaul Shalvi was recently elected to the Young Academy of Europe (YAE) based on his leadership in research and contributions to the field of Behavioral Ethics, strengthening the links between psychological and economic science.

The YAE is a pan-European initiative of outstanding young scientists for networking, scientific exchange and science policy. It is organized as a bottom-up initiative of a dynamic and innovative group of recognized European young scientists and scholars with outspoken views about science and science policy. The YAE provides input and advice from a younger generation’s perspective – a vital requirement to shape EU-wide Science Policy for the prospering of science in Europe for future generations.

Shalvi is an associate professor at CREED and at the Psychology Department at the University of Amsterdam. He was awarded an ERC starting grant in 2014 for his research project: ‘At the Roots of Corruption: A Behavioral Ethics Approach’.  As a YAE member, he seeks to establish a platform at the University of Amsterdam that will bring together European policy makers, practitioners, and scientists to exchange ideas on why corruption emerges and how it could be tackled.
