Herman van Dijk joins Norges Bank as a Visiting Research Scholar

In 2017 TI Honorary fellow and Emeritus Professor of econometrics at Erasmus School of Economics Herman van Dijk is going to work as a Visiting Research Scholar at Norges Bank, the Central Bank of Norway.

Norges Bank, which has implemented van Dijk’s prediction method using combinations of models has asked Herman to advise them on the development of research projects. In specific Norges Bank is interested in machine learning, using economic modeling and the use of big data, i.e. micro-data information in macro-models.

In 2013, Herman van Dijk was elected fellow of the International Society of Bayesian Analysis (ISBA). This title is awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to statistics.
