Hans Koster wins August Lösch Prize

TI Fellow Hans Koster won the prestigious August Lösch Prize 2014 for his dissertation on “The Internal Structure of Cities: The Economics of Agglomeration, Amenities and Accessibility.”

The prize rewards outstanding academic research in the field of Regional Science and Spatial Economics and carries an award of € 4.000. The prize will be presented on June 28th 2014, in Marburg, Germany, on the occasion of the Summer Conference of the Regional Science Association.

The City of Heidenheim an der Brenz and the August Lösch Association will jointly grant the August Lösch Prize 2014. The prize was first awarded in 1972 by the City of Heidenheim in honour of August Lösch (1906-1945), one of the founders of modern Regional Science, and a former citizen of Heidenheim.

Hans Koster is an assistant professor at the department of spatial economics at the VU University Amsterdam and a fellow at TI. Supervisors were professors and fellows Piet Rietveld (†) and Jos van Ommeren.
