PhD student Malin Gardberg has accepted a position as researcher (tenure-track) at Research Institute of Industrial Economics (IFN), Sweden.

Malin is a PhD candidate at Erasmus University of Rotterdam under supervision of fellows Lorenzo Pozzi and Casper de Vries and expects to defend her thesis this spring. Her research focuses on empirical macroeconomics, and she is in particular interested in international macro finance, exchange rates, consumption, financial markets and dollarization. Last summer she did an intership at the Asia and Pacific Department at the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C., United States. She holds a MPhil in Economics (2015) from Tinbergen Institute.

Her paper “Linking net foreign portfolio debt and equity to exchange rate movements” was awarded the 2017 5th SUERF (The European Money and Finance Forum)/UniCredit & Universities Prize.
