Placement Huyen Nguyen: Universität Hamburg

Huyen Nguyen is a TI research master graduate (2016) and final year PhD student at Erasmus School of Economics under supervision of research fellow Josse Delfgaauw. She will join Universität Hamburg, Germany as a Postdoc Researcher in January 2021. In her new position she will study opinion dynamics in democratic discussions (EU Horizon2020 Project DEMOS) and the human-AI interplay in hiring and court decisions.

Huyen's primary research interests are natural language processing (NLP), applied microeconometrics, game theory and experimental economics. She combines tools from text mining, argument mining and high-dimensional econometric techniques to understand gender differences in debate tournament speeches and negotiation exchanges.
