Placement David Smerdon: The University of Queensland

David Smerdon has accepted a tenure-track position of Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) at The University of Queensland. UQ is one of the top universities in Australia. David has said that he hopes the academic move will also allow him to contribute to Australian policy issues.

David graduated cum laude from the TI MPhil program in 2013 and is currently a PhD student at the University of Amsterdam. In the academic year of 2016-2017, David is a visiting research fellow at Bocconi University in Milan, where his primary research areas are behavioral and development economics.

He will defend his PhD from the University of Amsterdam, under the supervision of research fellow Theo Offerman and Uri Gneezy, in May 2017.
