Placement Wenqian Huang: Bank for International Settlements

PhD student Wenqian Huang has accepted an Economist position at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). The competition for such a position is fierce as typically only one or two are opened up each year for PhD students worldwide.

Wenqian graduated cum laude from the TI MPhil program in 2012 and is currently a PhD at the Department of Finance at VU Amsterdam under the supervision of Albert Menkveld. Wenqian’s thesis focuses on systemic risk associated with central clearing parties. Her main research interests lie in financial Market Infrastructures, Systemic Risk, and Market Microstructure.
