Royal decoration awarded to honorary fellow Herman van Dijk

Tinbergen Institute would like to congratulate honorary fellow Herman K. van Dijk who was knighted Ridder in de Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw (the Order of the Lion of the Netherlands) for his outstanding contributions to the study of Bayesian econometrics and his efforts to maintain the worldwide reputation of Dutch econometricians through his fundamental research and through directing, and stimulating research of his students.

A Dutch royal decoration constitutes recognition that someone has rendered exceptional service to society. The Order of the Lion of the Netherlands is the oldest and highest civilian order of chivalry in the Netherlands.

Van Dijk was director of the Tinbergen Institute from 1992 to 1999 and from 2008 to 2010. View his personal website here.
