Course Registration

    General

    All regular courses are taught in eight-week blocks, with lectures held during the first six (core courses) or seven weeks. The eighth week of each block typically serves as the exam week. In addition, first-year (core) courses have weekly one-hour tutorials taught by a teaching assistant, during which students work on and discuss homework assignments.

    The deadline for registration is four weeks before the start of the course. Late applications will incur a fee of 100 euro.

    Tinbergen Institute's research master students register for courses via the registration mode in Osiris student

    External Research Master students

    Research Master students affiliated to other programs in the Netherlands, are encouraged to attend courses from Tinbergen Institute’s Research Master program. To register, complete the registration form. No fees will be changed

    PhD Students

    Tinbergen Institute's Research Master Graduates

    Tinbergen Institute's research master graduates working as PhD students at one of the partner schools* are welcome to participate in field courses during the later years of their studies. Registration for courses is required: please fill out the registration form.  No fees will be charged.

    PhD students affiliated to Tinbergen Institute

    PhD students from our partner schools*, are encouraged to attend courses from Tinbergen Institute’s Research Master program. Enrollment is subject to approval by the Director of Graduate Studies, who checks if the prior knowledge of the student meets the entry requirements for the course. To register, complete the registration form.

    The fees are 1.000 euro for core courses and 750 euro for field courses and will be charged to the student's school.

    PhD students from our partner schools can obtain the Tinbergen Institute Research Qualification by completing a concise set of courses from the research master’s programs. More information on the requirements for the TI research qualification can be found here.

     

    PhD students not affiliated to Tinbergen Institute

    PhD students not affiliated to our partner schools* are welcome to attend our courses. Enrollment is subject to approval by the Director of Graduate Studies, who checks if the prior knowledge of the student meets the entry requirements for the course. Capacity restrictions apply to all courses, and may be particularly relevant for core courses.

    To register, complete the registration form.

    The fees are 1.500 euro for core courses and 1.000 for field courses.

    Professionals and Other Participants

    Professionals are welcome to attend our courses. Enrollment is subject to approval by the Director of Graduate Studies, who checks if the prior knowledge of the applicant meets the entry requirements for the course. Capacity restrictions apply to all courses, and may be particularly relevant for core courses. To register, complete the registration form. Please include a transcript of relevant earlier coursework (with grades).

    The fees are 2.000 euro for core courses and 1.500 euro for field courses.
