Accreditation Report NVAO praises Quality TI Research Master Program

The Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) has officially re-accredited TI’s Master of Philosophy in Economics Program, based on a highly positive assessment report of the review commission of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). The accreditation term runs from 2015 until 2021.

In the NVAO report, this commission reviewed the intended attainment targets, education learning environment, and system of review and testing of the TI research master program. The review commission praised the high quality of researchers teaching in the MPhil program.

‘The academic teaching staff has excellent qualifications and clearly transmit the ambitious educational goals of the program to their students. The policy of selective admissions prepares the students well to meet the ambitious requirements and and high level standards of the MPhil program.’

The commission assessed the attainment targets and concluded that ‘the quality of the research master MPhil in Economics is set at a high standard and at a level that is substantially higher than most of its competitors.’

The commission also evaluated the academic environment and found that the ‘MPhil program is embedded in an excellent academic learning and research environment.’

In it’s appraisal, the commission was duly impressed by the international profile and orientation of the MPhil program.

‘The standard of the educational attainment targets, ranking order and the successful outflow of alumni to other world class higher education institutions, gives weight to TI’s claim that their research master program is on par with the absolute world-class programs in the field of economics.’
