New Candidate Fellow: Miao Dai

Dai is an applied microeconomist with research interests in environmental and resource economics, industrial organization, international trade, and dynamic games.

Currently, he is working on three research projects focused on the role of critical minerals in the transition to clean energy. These projects explore topics such as the role of critical metals' recycling in trade and geopolitical tensions, the economic and policy implications of geopolitical challenges affecting mineral availability, and policy solutions to address environmental issues linked to mining and extraction.
