Joaquim Vidiella-Martin accepts post-doctorate offer from the University of Oxford

Joaquim joined the Health Economics group at Erasmus School of Economics in September 2017 as a PhD student affiliated with the Tinbergen Institute and the Erasmus Initiative 'Smarter Choices for Better Health'. His research interests lie in the field of applied microeconomics, more specifically in socioeconomic inequalities in perinatal health and early human capital formation. Joaquim is currently working under the supervision of fellows Prof. Tom Van Ourti, Prof. Eddy Van Doorslaer, and Dr Pilar García-Gómez.

Joaquim was recently awarded the annual Research Grant to an early career researcher in health economics by the Spanish National Health Economics Association (AES) for his project titled "Too Young to Live? Viability of Extremely Preterm Infants in Neonatal Intensive Care Units”. The grant will allow him to further understand the effects of treating extremely preterm infants, both for the infants themselves and the intensive care units they are placed.
