Hong Deng finalist for ASA Marketing Doctoral Research Award

Tinbergen Institute PhD student Hong Deng (Erasmus University Rotterdam) is one of the five finalists of the Marketing Doctoral Research Award of the American Statistical Association (ASA).

As a finalist Hong is invited to present the paper "Real-Time Personalization in Dynamic Environments" at the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) in Portland, United States on August 3-8, 2024. During JSM, the prize will be awarded to the best article of the five finalists. JSM is one of the largest statistical events in the world and attracts more than 5,000 attendees from 52 countries.

Hong previously received the Amazon Research Award and won the best paper award at the Marketing Dynamics Conference for the paper "Real-Time Personalization in Dynamic Environments," which is written in collaboration with Tinbergen Institute research fellows Bas Donkers and Dennis Fok (both Erasmus University Rotterdam).

Hong Deng is a PhD candidate in Quantitative Marketing at the Erasmus School of Economics and Tinbergen Institute, under the supervision of Bas Donkers and Dennis Fok. In September 2024 Hong will be joining London Business School, United Kingdom as a Research Fellow (equivalent to post-doc).
